Problem encountered#

The SSH host key of your VPS server has changed.

Cause#

The host SSH key can change for several reasons:

  • The key was regenerated by your VPS's OS during an operation you performed
  • Cloud-Init was re-executed from the guest OS during an operation you performed
  • The VPS was reinstalled
  • In very rare cases, this can happen when upgrading the VPS from one plan to another.

Solution#

If the VPS went through one of the operations described above, there is no need to worry. However, if you are not the source of this change, we invite you to contact our support so that we can check whether any action was taken on our part.

If we cannot find the origin of this change and neither can you, we strongly recommend that you follow this guide: https://docs.pulseheberg.com/fr/article/votre-serveur-a-ete-compromis-19ki880/ to make sure your VPS has not been compromised.
